I sometimes need assistance with various aspects of my research, from fieldwork during the summers to lab work during the school year preparing samples for DNA analysis.
Students working with me can get credit through BioS 399 or 391, or I would be happy to work with you to apply for funding (through UIC or outside) for a paid position. I am particularly interested in working with undergraduates who have an interest in ecology and are considering a career in that field, but I am also happy to work with students who just like to be outside, or who aren't sure yet what they want to do. Although my research is focused on birds, there may be opportunities for students who are interested in studying insects or plants, or who want to work on a GIS or DNA analysis-based study. |
If you are interested in working with me, please email me at mgarfi2 @ uic.edu. Include your resume, and a brief explanation of your research interests.
